Post surgical pain treatment that makes it possible for the patient to return as quickly as possible to his normal environment without pain has been a major priority of anaesthesia for the last few years. This goal is achieved by the use of the latest medication in the theatre. Immediately after waking up, the patient feels well and does not suffer from the after-effects of anaesthesia, such as nausea, malaise and the like, as was the case in the past.
Already before the actual operation, the doctors make sure that the patient does not suffer from pain after the operation by anesthetising specifically those nerves that transmit the feeling of pain from the operated area to the brain. The use of morphine – and thus also its side effects – is avoided as far as this is possible.
This procedure ensures that the patient can leave the hospital immediately after the operation and can pursue his normal activities.
